Child Illness Recurs Post-Meal - Frenchy's Rockaway Grill, Clearwater Florida

I would like to report a concern regarding Frenchy’s. My 4-year-old daughter has become ill after eating there on two separate occasions, approximately one month apart.

The first incident occurred about one month ago. She ate a children’s meal that included fried fish and a fruit cup. Later that evening, she began vomiting and developed a fever. Her symptoms continued throughout the week, and her condition worsened to the point that she could not keep food down, became weak and lethargic, and required treatment in the emergency room. We are still dealing with the medical expenses from that visit.

At the time, we weren’t sure what caused her illness. We had also been at the beach that day, so we didn’t know whether it was related to something she ate at the restaurant, the beach, or another cause. However, after the same sequence of events happened again today following another meal at Frenchy’s, I became concerned that the restaurant may be a common factor.

Today, we returned to Frenchys , and she again ate a grouper nugget meal and a fruit cup. Within a few hours, she began vomiting and complaining that her stomach hurt. I gave her the anti-nausea medication prescribed during her previous ER visit, and I am closely monitoring her condition.

Because this is the second similar illness following a meal at this restaurant, I believe it warrants an investigation. I respectfully request that the Florida health authorities inspect the restaurant’s food handling, storage, preparation, and sanitation practices, including fresh fruit and other items served on the children’s menu. My goal is simply to help ensure the safety of other families and children who dine there.
