Deli Meat Causes Diarrhea - Walmart, Cypress Texas

2 years ago reported by user-nnqdx582 business

Hillshire Farm, Walmart Supercenter, Northwest Freeway, Cypress, TX, USA

26270 Northwest Freeway, Cypress, 77429 Texas, United States

I used Hillshire Farm deli meat (smoked ham and Turkey) for a club sandwich on 9/17/23 and I have been having diarrhea ever since I ate it. I wasn’t sure if that was what was causing it so I made another sandwich as of today, 9/18/23, and yup! The toilet has been my best friend on both days. | Symptoms: Diarrhea

I buy this lunch meat all the time at Walmart and haven’t experienced any problems maybe it’s the smell of the lunch meat being packaged or maybe your stomach is extremely sensitive to packaged lunch meat another thing I can think of is maybe someone at the store left it out and then decided to put it back in the fridge later

Hi, thanks for your comment. TIP: Frozen food can cause food poisoning, most commonly via Listeria, a pathogen that can survive freezing. In July 2021 a Listeria outbreak related to frozen fully cooked chicken caused three hospitalizations and one death. Also Deli meats such as ham can cause food poisoning. Ham can become contaminated with harmful bacteria including Listeria and Staph during processing. Listeria is the most common cause of ham food poisoning and symptoms can include fever, chills, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea. Have a great afternoon!
