On 5/14/19 day 2 of vacation, patient E.S. came from eating lunch at the buffet and having a drink by the pool, once arrived in room, patient began projectile vomiting and diarrhea at the same time. E.S. did not feel well and stayed in room the remaining night. She had purchased 2 tickets for Monkeyland for 5/16/19 equaling $158.00. Well, E.S. still did not feel well the following day 5/15/19, therefore she did not leave her room but for Monkeyland on 5/16/19 and was told she could not participate due to being ill and she would get the monkey's sick. Some of the Dominicians attempted to assist E.S. with Lemon and salt for a remedy but she could not gather enough energy and went back to room, during this time the diarrhea persisted everyday 10-14 times a day. The day of departure Evette was still very ill but was able to take the ride/flight for home. Once in the airport the weakness and fullness in her abdomen increased, this requiring full assistance to and through the Miami airport. Once arriving back in Cleveland, Ohio, E.S. was taken to Metrohealth emergency in Ohio around 130am on 5/19/19 and transported to Main Campus Metro health hospital where it was determined she had developed an Small bowel obstruction while away. food poisoning, kidney damage, and dehydration. She has been hospitalized for 3 days, also missing work due to hospitalization. She was unable to interact the entire vacation, resulting in her lying in bed the entire time, weak, fatigue, and lethargic with discoloration of skin; unable to eat, poor mobility and discomfort. She saw someone/Dominican on the bus for Monkeyland, who attempted to treat with the remedy listed above but also stated he would not recommend the hospital in Punta Cana, DR. This is why care was waited until arriving back home. E.S. was in good health on 5/13/19 the initial date of arrival to resort | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, Fatigue, Dehydration, Weakness
