Food Safety Report - Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant Westminster, Westminster Colorado

2 years ago reported by user-wjfc4445 business

Los Arcos Mexican Restaurant Westminster, West 80th Avenue, Westminster, CO, USA

4991 West 80th Avenue, Westminster, 80030 Colorado, United States

The restaurant did not look clean. An atmosphere of waiters/waitresses in a big hurry. The burro is pork and hamburger, and the texture of the green chili was ridiculous-had to constantly spit out the skin. It did not taste right and I was sick within 3-4 hours, with severe diarrhea, nausea, chills, weakness, dizziness and aches. The vomiting was violent and I am experiencing my 3rd day of being sick! That place needs to have a health inspection immediately. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Weakness, Dizziness, Chills

You have not reported any outcome on my incident? What agency gets notified? Do I need to call Food and Drug Administration?

Hi M, we are really sorry to hear there is no follow up yet. We alerted the local environmental health agency that covers Winchester, and we also alerted the State agency responsible for food safety. They will hopefully get back to you soon, they may just be backed up. Some environmental health agencies are short staffed, and also have to cover many areas, not just food safety. You can try the FDA but they typically do not get involved with local issues, unless they are asked to by the state or if it's a multi-state outbreak, or it immediately falls under their jurisdiction, and a single Mexican Restaurant would typically not fall under their jurisdiction. We will let you know if we hear anything, and thanks for speaking up and reporting your observations, issues like these are widely under reported, and 48 million are sickened every year in the US alone, with an estimated 3,000 annual deaths.
