Quarter Pounder Illness Ordeal - McDonald's, Austin Texas

7 years ago reported by user-bzyd1621 business

McDonald's, Metric Boulevard, Austin, TX, USA

12443 Metric Boulevard, Austin, 78758 Texas, United States

On Sunday afternoon, 12/9/2018, I bought a quarter pounder with cheese, small fries, and a Sprite (I kept my receipt). I ate the food but only took 3 small sips of the drink because I didn't like the taste (I don't normally drink soda). Approx 30 minutes after eating, I got severe stomach cramps, headache, nausea and felt initially hot - followed by extreme chills. Over the next 14 hours I spent at least 15 minutes of EVERY hour in the bathroom with diarrhea. I vomited once and dry heaved often during that time too. The following 2 days I was still having the headache, severe stomach cramps and now bloody slimy diarrhea but at least it was less frequent. I could last about 2 hours between bathroom visits. The only thing I ate on Monday was 1/2 cup of white rice (which my body rejected) and Gatorade. On Tuesday I ate 1/4 cup of rice and some saltine crackers. I kept them down for the most part. I missed 1.5 days of work due to the food poisoning! This was worse than the flu I got last year. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Nausea, Vomiting, Headache, Cramps, Chills
