Tuna Mislabeling? GI Symptoms - Morrisons, England

3 years ago reported by user-jyytp213 business

Morrisons, Harrogate, UK

HG2 7LD England, United Kingdom

A few weeks ago when it was really hot in the UK I made a tuna & mayo sarnie with their own-brand tuna in brine (3 small tins). The next day I woke up sick & with bad diarrhoea, I thought it was the heat that made me ill. I had another tin on Monday & woke up Tuesday sick & really bad diarrhoea again. Anyone want to test the 3 tin for me? Still feeling rough and it's Wednesday now. In bed for most of Tuesday afternoon!
EDIT: Just read this! Last summer, Oceana Canada conducted DNA testing in our nation’s capital, Ottawa, and found that almost 50 per cent of fish were mislabelled. Specifically, four of five samples of white tuna were actually escolar, a fish known as the “laxative of the sea.” This oily fish is not a species of tuna at all and can cause acute gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting and nausea. The health concerns are so severe that it is banned in Italy, South Korea and Japan. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting
