Leftover Pork Causes Illness - Sofrito, New York New York

We visited the restaurant on May 21, 2022 for my friend's wedding dinner. I love this place and I've dined there for my birthday and other large parties over the years. It's a beautiful place with great service. We had a variety of dishes to choose from as they provide an event menu. I ordered the pernil which is a large portion of roast pork but only sampled it as we also had appetizers, drinks and cake. I ate the leftovers on Tuesday May 24, heating them in a pan until they were hot and ate it with the leftover rice that accompanies the dish around 1pm. I started having an upset stomach and felt dizzy around 7pm. Diarrhea and stomach cramps occurred. For the next week and a half I experienced diarrhea, nausea, upset stomach and headaches. Immodium AD and Pepto Bismol only eased the symptoms. I finally contacted the doctor via urgent care yesterday, June 2nd as the symptoms continued. I am now taking two different antibiotics for the next 7 days and starting to experience some relief. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Cramps, Headache, Dizziness

Sofrito went downhill few years ago. I went in 2022 as well but service was not good compared to when i went before. To make things worse it was Winter, i was celebrating a bday and thy had no heat!!! Tht had a little heater in the middle if the restaurant doing nothing. I complained and thy brought a heater but it did nothing. We ate with our costs on and thy didnt even offer to reduce our bill. I never went back. Oh and portions were small.
