Unsanitary Staff, Stale Ingredients - Subway, Lakewood California

7 years ago reported by user-gjqmk268 business

SUBWAY®Restaurants, Del Amo Boulevard, Lakewood, CA, USA

5517 Del Amo Boulevard, Lakewood, 90713 California, United States

My friend and I always go to Subway restaurants because it is the "healthiest option" compared to other chain restaurants. Well, I was completely mistaken as I ended up getting food poisoning from this particular location. When we first entered, we noticed that it was completely deserted. No customers or employees! We were hanging around, when all of a sudden this worker comes out and says "What can I get for you?" I had some coupons and hadn't figured out which one I was going to use yet, so I said "Can we have a moment?" When we were ready I went up to the counter and she was like "Are you ready NOW?" I was shocked at the way her attitude completely changed because I asked her to wait a moment. I ordered a 6 in, teriyaki sub with various vegetables. Throughout my whole order she was giving me attitude. Anyway, I ate the sub and the next day I felt that my stomach was hurting. I didn't pay much attention to it until it got worse as the day went on. I began to feel weak and had to use the restroom a lot. This is when I realized that I had food poisoning. I knew it couldn't have been anything else that got me sick, because when I got home, on the day that I ate the sandwich, I only ate homemade foods which I know were fine to eat. I began to think about my experience at this Subway and the more I think about it, the more I realize that that particular subway is really gross. The employee's attitude was horrible, her health standards were really low, and on top of it all, I think she gave me days old meat or vegetables because everything was running low on supply. How is a location that is so deserted going to run out of products so fast? I also noticed that there weren't any more cookies. Who would have purchased ALL the cookies in one day? Idk the days that they are supposed to restock, but I sure as he'll wasn't "eating fresh" as they promote on their commercials. Never going to that subway again. Unsanitary and rude employees. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Vomiting, Weakness
