Curry Meal Illness Suspected - Tesco, Epsom England

12 hours ago reported by user-npcjd654 business

Tesco Ruxley Lane Express, Ruxley Lane, Epsom, UK

164 Ruxley Lane, Epsom, KT19 9JS England, United Kingdom

Bought a reduced Chinese chicken curry with egg fried rice on 2nd March 2026. This was consumed by my daughter on the same day, within date.
Heated for an extra minute (7 mins rather than 6) and she did remark it was 'too hot to eat' so we definitely heated it thoroughly according to pack instructions.
Eight hours later, in the night, she had major sickness and diarrhoea. This lasted all day on 3rd March. She is recovering now but having another day off school.
Nobody else had symptoms so I do believe it was due to the meal.
Could this be a product issue OR a storage issue? I am not sure. But it definitely caused her to be ill.
I will remark that in this particular Tesco everything always seems disorganised and it always feels chaotic with shelves being filled whenever I am in there. There is always things lying about. To be honest it is making me wary buying anything from there now.
I did buy another one of the curries, which my husband was supposed to eat but he never did. I have put this in my freezer, so I do still have another one from the same time and day if any further investigations need to be done. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Vomiting
