KM. 4.5 Boulevard Kukulcan, Cancún, 77500 Quintana Roo, Mexico
Our family, 4 adults and one 3 year old, stayed at the Sens from Dec 22-29. In the early hours of the 26th we all started showing symptoms. We are home now and on day 6 and our daughter is still very ill. We’ve been to emergency and are still waiting test results but she seems to be getting worse rather than better. People at the hotel tried to play it is norovirus or a flu. I don’t think so. Symptoms should not be this bad and this long lasting. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Fever, Cramps, Chills

We just got back Cancun. Our party of 9 all got sick after staying at the Sens on 12/26 had to cancel our flight home and stay two more days as we were too sick to fly. We are all still pretty miserable and some of us still having diarrhea including my 7 year old. My FIL was just admitted to the hospital yesterday with acute kidney failure and we are hoping he won’t need dialysis.

Wow I am so sorry to hear this. We all had labs done showing Shiga toxin-producing Ecoli... horrible horrible. We are also still suffering but my 3 year old seems to be getting better.
Oh wow! I was assuming this was E. coli but did not think it was the shiga type. They did send a stool sample for my FIL but we haven’t had testing. Our docs ordered us adults cipro. The three kids with us are all still having diarrhea and tired but getting better slowly. My FIL’s labs are improving so so far no dialysis needed thankfully. I am so glad your 3 year old is doing better. I’m sure it’s been scary for you too! Do you have any suspicion of what exactly you ate/drank that was contaminated? We can’t pinpoint one thing we all had the same except ice in the drinks. We also did that pirate ship cruise the same day we all got sick but not everyone had same thing on that either.
My daughter and I experienced same from Sens resort on Dec 26. Feeling better today but lingering symptoms of diarrhea, no appetite, reflux on Day 10.
Ours all started 12/27 and still ongoing diarrhea for most of us on day 11 😩
Wow, yes we are on day 11/12 now too. My husband still have pretty severe diahrrea but things seem to be slowing down a bit for my daughter and I. We don't know what we ate or drank specifically either - my mom and grandmas symptoms started the day after us - we ate at the Maki Taco the evening before symptoms started, ate at the beach bar, drank drinks.. its so hard to say. I assume it was in the water or everywhere if so many people were impacted like it seems?
I feel like it must have been in the water or ice as well since like you said it seems like a lot of people were affected and we all ate different things. We ate at the White Box the night before but all had drinks at the pool bars the every day. Did any of your group have blood in your stool? None of us have. We are waiting on stool sample results still.
Yeah we had drinks at the pool bars every day too. No thankfully none of us have. Just constant, watery stool and pretty severe abdominal pain. My daughter ended up severely dehydrated and lethargic for a while but is on the mend now. We are in Canada and because its a confirmed case now public health is involved and our daughter can't go back to daycare until she's had 2 negative stool samples.. which can apparently be weeks. More time off work.. I've submitted requests for reimbursement for our stay.
Thanks for the info! We will look into contacting resort as well. Have they responded to you at all?
No I haven’t received a response so far!
