Punahele Jerky Company, Inc. is issuing a public health alert for its ready-to-eat beef jerky products due to misbranding and undeclared soy lecithin, an allergen. These products were distributed to retail stores in Hawaii and sold online nationwide in the United States.AFFECTED PRODUCT
PRODUCT: "DRIED HAWAIIAN STYLE BEEF CRISPS, ORIGINAL SALT & PEPPER FLAVOR"
- 6-oz. plastic packages
- Bearing establishment number "EST. 2625" inside the USDA mark of inspection.
PRODUCT: "PUNAHELE JERKY COMPANY INC UNCLE K'S BEEF CRISPS"
4-oz. plastic packages.
PRODUCT: "PUNAHELE JERKY COMPANY INC KILAUEA FIRE SPICY BEEF CRISPS".
4-oz. plastic packages
All items have best-by dates of February 17, 2027, or earlier.
The issue was identified during a routine FSIS label review. The alert was issued on March 1, 2026.
