Raw Dairy Products Do Not Consume Warning due to Listeria Contamination

New Mexican Department of Health (NMDOH) has issued a warning for Raw Dairy Products following the death of a newborn from Listeria infection. Investigators believe the infection was most likely linked to the mother consuming unpasteurized milk during pregnancy. The product was distributed in New Mexico, USA.The recalled product is:
- Raw dairy products (unpasteurized milk and products made from raw milk)
- Pathogens of Concern: Listeria, avian influenza, Brucella, Tuberculosis, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Cryptosporidium, and E. coli
Risk Groups: Pregnant individuals, newborns, young children, older adults, and immunocompromised individuals
The warning was announced on February 3rd, 2026. Consumers are advised to avoid raw dairy products and choose pasteurized dairy instead.
