The Yakima Health District (YHD) is investigating an outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to a Fourth of July car show in Wapato, Washington. Ten confirmed and suspected cases have been reported among individuals who consumed food at the event hosted by Imperial's Garden. Although symptoms may resolve, individuals can continue to shed the bacteria for an extended period, posing a risk of further transmission.
The outbreak was identified following reports of illness from individuals who attended the event. Imperial's Garden is cooperating with the Yakima Health District to trace the source of the contamination. The investigation is ongoing, and health officials are emphasizing the importance of food safety practices to prevent further cases.
