April 23rd, 2025:
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has initiated an investigation into a new outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis (ref #1300) linked to an unidentified product. The outbreak has so far affected 50 people. The outbreak, which was reported on April 23, 2025, is still active and ongoing. The FDA has yet to identify the specific product linked to the illnesses, making it difficult for consumers to avoid potential exposure. The total case count currently stands at 50, but this number may increase as the investigation continues.

The problem was discovered through routine FDA traceback procedures, which are initiated when an outbreak of foodborne illness is detected. The FDA is currently conducting further inspections and sampling to identify the source of the outbreak. The agency is working diligently to identify the product and prevent further illnesses.
