Truffle Pasta Food Poisoning

Truffle pasta could be a source of food poisoning. In 2015, 159 individuals in D.C. reported gastrointestinal illness after eating a meal with contaminated truffle oil. The oil was contaminated with Salmonella. A Salmonella infection often occurs 12-72 hours after consumption, and is associated with stomach cramps and diarrhea.

The food tasted amazing. I ordered their special - truffle pasta. The waiter shaved half of that truffle into my plate. It was delicious. But after a few hours I had hot flashes and felt very nauseous. Could not sleep all night. Was a miserable experience. Later - diarrhea and vomiting.  | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting

Me and my friend (both having had the truffle pasta) at this location super ill afterwards.

reached home and I felt incredibly nauseated and feverish.

Another of our friends had the truffle pasta but she didn't eat the shavings and was too full to finish the dish, she reported feeling fine. I also left a few pieces of truffle but my friend who was the illest ate it all.

Started feeling sick as soon as I left the restaurant. I ordered a truffle pasta. After 5 mins of walking down the street I started experiencing the worst stomach cramps and thought was gonna be sick walking down the street.
