Had a bad experience eating out?

Your report helps protect others.

Why am I getting these alerts?

You’re receiving these alerts because you either filled out a request or opted in to receive updates when submitting a food poisoning report.

What are these alerts?

When someone reports a food poisoning incident in your neighborhood, we will send you an alert the next day. It will come into your inbox using the email address you provided to us.

This is not my report - did you change it?

No, we do not change or edit reports. If you don’t recognize the report, it simply means it was submitted by someone else. It may involve a different restaurant or food.

How do I stop getting these alerts?

Every alert email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can click it at any time to stop receiving alerts. Alternatively, if that does not work, you can email us using our contact form, and we will unsubscribe you manually.

Where does the information in these alerts come from?

All reports come directly from people who voluntarily share their experiences on our site. Each report is reviewed for clarity before being posted publicly.

What should I do if I think a report is similar to what I experienced?

You can submit your own report or comment to share more details. This helps identify possible outbreaks and keeps the information accurate for everyone in the area.

Where does the recall information come from?

Our team checks official sources daily, including government and local health department websites such as the U.S. FDA, CDC, and other agencies. We also monitor credible news outlets for critical recall or outbreak information, especially when it may not yet appear on regulatory sites. Learn more about recalls & outbreaks on our editorial page.

This recall is not in my area — why did I get this alert?

We send recall alerts based on how close you are to where a recalled product may have been sold. Instead of using strict state or city borders, we use a distance-based system to reach people near affected areas, especially around borders.

This system is usually accurate, but it can sometimes include nearby areas where the product was not sold. When that happens, you may receive an alert even if it does not directly affect you. Our goal is to make sure anyone who might be impacted is informed.

Can I change the location or frequency of alerts?

Yes. You can update your alert settings anytime from your preferences page after logging in. There, you can adjust your location, the types of alerts you receive, and how often you receive them.
