February 2018 My family and I visited the Lifestyles Resort. 7 out of 10 of us feel ill one evening after eating at the resort. Within a few hours of the meal I experiences extreme Nausea, a High Fever, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Shaking, etc. I have had food
poisoning in the past and this was 10 times worse. I was careful not to drink water from the tap. I even went to the extreme of brushing my teeth with bottled water. I do not drink much, but that day I had several frozen margaritas from the Ocean Bar and attended the family dinner at a villa on the resort grounds. The resort prepared a special dinner at the house for my family. The dinner included shrimp, lobster, steak, and side dishes. I consumed all three proteins - Seafood and Steak. Both my parents, and several friends also feel ill that evening. Also, you can clearly see a stream of smelly sewage water running from the resort out to the ocean. This is between the Saffron Restaurant and the Confesi Palm Resort (Part of the Lifestyles Resort). Also further down the beach you can see and smell another stream of sewage water running from the Lifestyles resort. Clearly this property has issues with the treatment of its sewage and management of water. Additionally, I believe their food handling is not properly done as I have seen food trucks that were unrefrigerated delivering food the numerous villas and restaurants around the resort. If food is exposed to extreme temperatures and not properly refrigerated you will have contaminated food. I will never return to this resort or the Dominican Republic. I think the entire country lacks in basic food safety knowledge.

I was never so sick in my life. Vacation left me with stomach problems that have persisted for over 2 years. I should have known better as this is a filthy resort.

next we knew several hours had gone by and we didn't know how we got there to the other resort pool, My husband became very ill after just a few drinks. He is a large guy and can hold liquor but not this kind. My husband had to go to ER on resort and tgey told him he was just drunk. We knew that was not the case. They sent us away., My husband became ill with severe vomiting and chest pains and complaints of not being able to breathe. He started convulsing and vomiting more. It has been 5 days since we got back home to US and he still has severe diarrhea and chest pains., We think the resort food was not prepared properly for food safety which could have also been a contributor to his illness. I was also sick with diarrhea symptoms after arriving home. 2 other friends of ours were also ill with same symtpms., Our friends were also in our villa. They did not have much alcohol until last day and tgey had a few drinks on the beach and became severely ill the rest of the day and night.

My stay was Tuesday March 19 to 23, 2019 and on the 4th day 22nd the last night of my trip I became ill.

show up. By the morning I felt better but any drinking or food brought on diarrhea for the following 3 days back in the states. My daughter who travel with me became ill once back in thr states with exact same symptoms and she was down for 1 day with vomiting, followed by 2 days of diarrhea.

On Friday, April 5 /24, my husband brought home a roasted rotisserie chicken from Canadian Super Store on Queensway in Simcoe Ontario. We ate it that day, and I became horribly ill within 2 hours. My husband became sick, as well, but luckily he didn’t get as
sick as I did. The chicken seemed to taste a bit different than usual, but not bad. It was obvious that I had food poisoning, as I had all of the disturbing symptoms. As I type this day (on Sunday April 7, 2024), I’m just beginning to feel better, but my muscles & joints are still weak and extremely painful. I’ve never been so ill in my entire life. We kept the receipt and the cardboard carrier with information regarding time, date , etc, and we stored a piece of the chicken in a labelled baggie in the freezer.
