Same thing happened to me yesterday with the exact same product. Family member also had stomach issues after eating one. Expiration date Dec 03 2024.

CHE Boutique d'Empanadas Inc., a Montreal-based company, has issued a recall for its chicken empanadas due to undeclared sulfites. The product was distributed in various establishments in the Montreal region. The issue was discovered during routine checks by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) in … See More
collaboration with the Food Inspection Division of the City of Montreal. No allergic reactions related to the consumption of this product have been reported to MAPAQ so far.

The recalled product is the "Empanadas Poulet Napolitain," with a size of 560g. The batch in question has a best-before date of September 2024. The product's UPC and specific batch number were not provided.

If you have this product at home, do not consume it and return it to the store where it was purchased.

Sulphites are chemicals used in food and drinks to preserve color and prolong shelf life. If you consume something with undeclared sulphites and you're sensitive or allergic to them, you may experience symptoms like headaches, hives, or breathing problems. It's important for people with sulphite sensitivity to check food labels for sulphite content.

If you or a loved one are harmed or experiencing any symptoms, it is important to report it. Reporting can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.

My niece, daughter, and I all had severe food poisoning from this location for at least 48 hours from eating at Piada. Around 7pm three days prior we decided to eat at Piada. I ordered the Diavolo sauce while daughter and niece got the marinara red sauce. … See More
Noticed both were near the last of the containers and whatever wasn’t scooped onto the noodles, the leftovers were poured and mixed into the new sauce. When confronting the manager of the illness they mentioned that it is standard procedure to pour the old leftover sauce into the new sauce to help not waste food. Standard procedures should also include not violating health codes when heating food longer than 4 hours by pouring previously heated food into newly heated food in which would contaminate the new heated batch. The manager advised we go to the hospital to confirm the food poisoning we received a couple of hours after consuming their food which included uncontrollable vomiting, diarrhea, fever, cold sweats, and inability to move for two complete days while not being able to retain fluids. On day three was able to gain enough strength to shower and drink fluids but still shakey and unable to eat.  | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Fever, Sweating
