Stomach Flu & Food Poisoning

Stomach flu is a nonspecific term that includes food poisoning when the source is contaminated food. It is commonly caused by norovirus which is very contagious and spreads quickly. Stomach flu symptoms range in severity and occur within hours of eating. They include diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.

could think of and nothing. So they gave us IV's for home and we had to personally nurse them back to health with IV's and medication and so forth. the recovery was soooo slow but all the pups survived. in the meantime I developed diarrhea then the kids and nausea we assumed the whole house had the stomach flu. however two of the puppies and kids didn't get stomach problems or sick at all. we took covid tests and flu tests and nothing so we just have been slowly recovering and i saw an article about LUCKY CHARMS!!!!! our house is ALWAYS ALWAYS. stocked with LUCKY CHARMS because I'm gluten free and there isn't too many cereals that are both gluten free and kids love. Interestingly we were out of town and came back from Arizona March 27th, this is when we found the dogs had gotten into the trash but we didn't see anything harmful in the trash they could have ate except a few cereal boxes of you guessed it lucky charms but they always find cereal bits on the ground of lucky charms and eat them so we didn't think anything of that either UNTIL NOW!!! don't get me wrong it could still be a flu or something because we also had fevers and other coldish symptoms. But the. roomate that didn't get diarreah and vomitting symptoms just so happens to not eat lucky charms. could it be lucky charms to cause ALL THIS! and what would a Vet have needed to test for where a food could cause blood in stool? please note it would have to be recent boxes of cereal like Late March or April if this is true because we get lucky charms every month and we've never been sick like this! I didn't realize other people had problems here, but I got a two-pack of Lucky Charms from here and I was in rather severe GI distress over the weekend. I had to induce vomiting to help myself feel better. It only lasted about 24-48 hours, and I attributed it to possible stomach flu.  | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting

was Definitely food poisoning as it has never taken 5+ days to recover from a stomach flu. Clean up your place, wash your hands, change your gloves, fix your bathrooms, wash hands and use gloves before handling the refilling of utensils.
