Baker’s Cottage’s Snow Skin Signature Yam Mooncake recalled due to E Coli

2 months ago source sfa.gov.sg

Recall notice

Singapore

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has detected excessive levels of Escherichia coli (E. coli) in Baker’s Cottage’s Snow Skin Signature Yam Mooncake, leading to a recall of the product. The recalled product, imported from Malaysia by Ewayz Pte Ltd, is specifically the Baker’s Cottage Snow Skin Signature Yam Mooncake.

The product details include an expiry date of December 31, 2024, and it originates from Malaysia. The recall is currently ongoing.

The issue was discovered during SFA's regulatory sampling of mooncakes. E. coli, a bacteria typically found in the intestines of people and animals, can be introduced during the production process via cross-contamination.

In case you are experiencing E. coli symptoms such as watery diarrhea (often bloody), vomiting; stomach cramps; and mild fever, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
