Freshness Guaranteed Chicken Fried Rice - recalled due to Listeria

5 months ago source www.fsis.usda.gov

Recall notice

United States

The FSIS announced the recall of approximately 13,842 pounds of Freshness Guaranteed chicken brand ready-to-eat (RTE) fried rice products by Garland Ventures that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes. These products were shipped to retail locations nationwide. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

The recalled product is:
- 12-oz. trays containing Freshness Guaranteed brand “CHICKEN FRIED RICE DICED CHICKEN MEAT WITH VEGETABLES AND RICE IN A SAVORY SOY SAUCE” with lot code WK10CFR and a best if used by date of 11/10/2024 represented on the label.

The problem was discovered by FSIS during review of testing results, which showed the product tested positive for L. monocytogenes.

FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them.

In case you are experiencing Listeria monocytogenes symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
