Smoked Andouille Sausage Recalled Due to Listeria

Bourgeois Smokehouse, a Louisiana-based company, is recalling approximately 100 pounds of its ready-to-eat smoked andouille sausage due to potential Listeria contamination, as announced by the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service. The recalled product was distributed to Rouses Market retail locations in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi, and has been available for purchase since May 13, 2025. The issue was discovered during routine product testing by FSIS, which confirmed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the smoked andouille sausage produced by Bourgeois Smokehouse.The recalled product, produced on May 12, 2025, is the company's smoked andouille sausage, which was weighed, wrapped, and labeled in-store at the time of purchase. The product does not bear an establishment number or the USDA mark of inspection, as it was wrapped and labeled in-store.
Consumers are advised not to consume the product and to return it to where they purchased it.
