Various glass jar products recalled due to Botulism

Chapina502 is recalling its pickled chili and Chapin-style chimichurri sauce because they have not been prepared and packaged in a way that ensures their safety, and the products could promote the proliferation of the Clostridium botulinum bacteria. These products were sold in various establishments across Quebec, Canada, until July 7, 2025.

The recalled products include:

PRODUCT: "Pickled Chili" in 500 ml jars
PRODUCT: "Chimichurri Sauce Chapin Style" in 200 ml jars.

- Both products were packaged in glass jars with metal lids
- Labeled with "Chapina502."
- The products were sold at room temperature.

The recall was initiated as a precautionary measure after safety concerns were identified. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has classified this as a Class I recall.
