Chicken Quesadilla Illness Mystery - Booster Juice, Calgary Alberta

6 years ago reported by user-bhgqn935 business

Booster Juice, 130 Avenue Southeast, Calgary, AB, Canada

4703 130 Avenue Southeast, Calgary, T2Z 4J2 Alberta, Canada

Monday February 11th I ate a chicken Quasdilla for lunch from the above mentioned Booster Juice and within and hour my health quickly began to deteriorate.

My first meal was eggs that I cooked and shared with my family. My wife and son left the house where they eventually had lunch on there own. They returned at the house at noon with a booster juice for my wife and I and a chicken quasidilla for me. I shared the Juice with my son but was the only person to have the quasidilla

They left for a nap and I went to work in our basement. Shortly after I started feeling nauseous and had to sit down. In about an hour I went to wake them up to let my wife know I was beginnning to feel quite ill and was going to our spare room to lay down.

The nausea continued to increase until began throwing up 3-4 hours later and diarria soon after and both became very frequent. My wife called the 911 later that evening after I reported I thought I might pass out and did not think I could get dressed and down the stairs if needed.

The paramedics checked all my vitals and reported it was either food poisoning, stomach flu or a GI issue but was better off staying home at this point versus having risk to further infections and having the comfort of my family and home in my current state. If things did not get significantly better in 24-48 hours proceed to seeing my family doctor.

I was extremely ill for the rest of the night and much of the next day with continued vomiting and diarrhea leaving me exhausted and bed ridden.

Wednesday morning was my last instance of diarrhea and I care downstairs for the first time since Monday and continued to feel better. Thursday I still did not feel great but got better. Friday and Saturday I felt back to normal and began proceeding with my normal daily activities.

Sunday I woke up feeling ill again and went back to bed for a while longer which I never do. I usuallly get up around 5 am and continue on to whatever I am doing that day. By 2:00pm I was feeling very nauseated, gassy and very tired again. By 4 I was feeling as if I was going to be sick again so I went to a walk in clinic and explained the above. The doctor said I most likely had food poisoning and needed another 48 hours of rest. I have not slept much at all last night and still feel queasy but wanted to have this reported. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, Gas
