Suspected Duck Dish Illness - Casa Amate, Quintana Roo

4 years ago reported by user-bknqj667 business

Casa Amate, Quintana Roo, Mexico

77730 Quintana Roo, Mexico

We’re staying at the Andaz and were excited to dine here after having read so many great things about the restaurant. Unfortunately, it doesn’t live up to the hype and, worse, may not be following safe food handling and cooking practices. My fiancé woke up during the night after our visit them with food poisoning symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, and extreme cramps. The only food that we didn’t share here (or all day, for that matter) was the duck dish, which we suspect as being the source of the food poising. Aside from the food poisoning issue, we found the service to be lackluster and at times awkward. On the plus side, the drinks, beef short rib, and octopus were excellent. The Origen desert was interesting, but not particularly tasty. Overall, I would recommend trying other Mayakoba restaurants and would encourage this to double down on food safety practices. | Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting, Cramps
