Cheerios Mix Causes Cramps - Cheerios, Chandler Arizona

3 years ago reported by user-whfp2339 business

Cheerios, Walmart Supercenter, 2750 E Germann Rd, Chandler, AZ, USA

2750 East Germann Road, Chandler, 85286 Arizona, United States

I'm on an extremely controlled diet due to wheat and sorghum reactions. I've eaten cheerios for years, but around April I started evenly mixing in honey nut cheerios with regular cheerios. I eat it as an evening snack. For about 2 weeks after, I had horrible cramps, 'similar' to what I might get eating gluten, but the only change I had made was the honey nut cheerios. I eventually decided that was it and threw it out entirely and my issues went away within 2 days entirely. I figured it was just a bad box. Unfortunately, I threw it out like most people. These guys really need to consider a recall to be safe and look closely at testing the herbicides and other chemicals used when growing their grains. In the mean time, I suspect the number of people with a complaint is increasing rapidly.

It has to be difficult to pinpoint which batch when so little information is available. I can tell you it was probably march or early april when I bought it, but hard to pinpoint it. It was a large box. I had a period of about 2 weeks where I was getting horrible cramps late at night and endured quite a lot of suffering until I finally realized it coincided with days where ate the cheerios mix. I continue to use 2% lactaid milk, same as always and haven't had any issues with it and other cereals. Given the ingredients list on cheerios seems extremely benign, I'd probably suspect the sourced oats. Perhaps they are being too heavy handed with the herbicides. I'm just glad my pains stopped after I figured it out | Symptoms: Nausea, Cramps
