Child Hospitalized After Meal - Chipotle Mexican Grill, St. Louis Missouri

7 years ago reported by user-wmvj4663 business

Chipotle Mexican Grill, South Grand Boulevard, St. Louis, MO, USA

212 South Grand Boulevard, St. Louis, 63103 Missouri, United States

My son and I were in St. Louis for an event at the St. Louis University. At 9:30 in the evening of June 29th, 2018, we shared a kids meal of chicken, pinto beans, cheese and my son had a soda. He was vomiting by 11:00-11:30 that night and awoke weak, nauseous, pale and tired. I had diarrhea and nausea. At 9:00 am Saturday morning, he had bloody stool and was seen by a physician. At 1:00 he had a second bloody stool and fever and was taken to the emergency room. He was hooked to an iv, stool sample was taken and bloodwork. They also checked me. He improved with medication and disconnected him from the IV and released him. Before leaving the hospital, he had another bout of diarrhea. At the pharmacy, he had four bouts of diarrhea and we returned home, contacting his doctor. We filled him with fluids continually and monitored him as he had continuous bloody stools all evening and thru the night. We were in touch with his physician numerous times throughout the evening. By morning, he was responding to the antibiotics, nausea meds and gut health supplements prescribed by his physician and showing improvement. His fever was still there but his bowel movements were lessened and he was able to eat a little. By Monday morning he was much improved, fever was finally gone and some sense of normalcy had returned. Chipolte has responded well and been very responsive. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Nausea, Vomiting, Other, Bloody Stool, Weakness
