On March 31st, around 6:00 pm, my wife ordered a meat sampler (turkey, brisket, and two different chickens) with four sides (collards, 2 green beans, and baked beans). On the following day, my wife got had nausea, diarrhea, and vomit. I did not realize that the food was contaminated, and I unfortunately ate the leftover turkey that night. On April 2, I got diarrhea and nausea. My 11 month son also got diarrhea from when he was eating with my wife on March 31st. We went back to our hotel, and everything was fine. I woke up at 4am and had diarrhea but still thought nothing of it. Got to the airport and got to the gate and I got really really cold chills. So I bought a hoodie to help. About 10 minutes later out of know where I made it to the trash can just in time to throw up. I then continued to throw up for 45 minutes non stop. After everything was gone I felt a bit of relief.
We got on the plane to Miami Fl and about 1/2 way there it hit me again. Dry heaving thank got happened but also Diarrhea happened IN THE BATHROOM thank god.
We made it to the hotel at they seen I was sick so we went to MDUrgentCare as the hotel suggested and they said I was ok to cruise I just had a small bug. It would go away in 12 hours.
We went to hotel and I slept, threw up and Diarrhea all night long for hours. Sat we got on the ship and I went to the cabin and lied down and did not do anything but throw up and had the diarrhea for hours like 10 hours. My wife said let’s go to medical the next morning very early and I am glad I did. They saved my life. Dr Christy saved my life period.
My blood pressure was 62/32
My kidneys was at a 6.7 which means they shut down. My heart rate was all over the board. I could only have diarrhea and could not Pee. They gave me a catheter to help with that. This basically was just about 150 miles out from Miami I’d guess. Again the ships dr’s saved my life.
They got ahold of JETICU and my wife along with our luggage and myself was taken off the ship and flown back to Ft.Lauderdale Fl from Cozumel on the private hospital jet. Once landed in Ft Lauderdale they took us by ambulance to Broward County hospital who specialized in Infectious Diseases.
I was taken to their 3rd floor I believe it was for 3 days. After numerous vials of blood, test, cat scans, EKG’s they came in and said I for sure had Salmanella and maybe Ecoli.
With my kidneys shutting down the way they did it effected my whole body which almost sent it into shut down mode.
Today is Nov 18, 2023 at 8:25 pm and I am still in bed and sick.
The Broward County health department has been in touch with me. The Harnett county Health department is working on this with me as is the CDC in Atlanta Ga.
The Cheesecake Factory is the only food I ate on Oct 27 that got me this sick beginning 12 hours later. I also lost 36 lbs as of today as well.
I hate to say this but I hope there is others who ate the meatloaf at the Cheesecake Factory there in Raleigh on Glenwood street. I just hope no one has gotten sick like I did.
So our 25th wedding anniversary was pretty much a total disaster in almost every way possible. Thank you to the dr’s on the carnival Cruise ship and to the Dr’s at Broward County Hospital along with the JETICU dr’s Who all worked together to save my life.
If you know anyone who got sick during that time frame who may of ate at the cheese cake factory on Glenwood ave in Raleigh nc please have them notify there local health department or please call the Harnett county Nc health department. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Chills See Less

Ordered Instacart 10/09 (90 degrees that day), shopper checked out, I then got a notification they had to do another order. Food arrived from start to finish just under 2hrs later. I only eat at home, so I know for a fact it was this order. My... See More cart was mostly yogurt, cheese, creamer, and meat. My food was very warm when it arrived. One of the yogurts I threw away as it was open. Within 12 hours of eating a yogurt, creamer, and cheese I had stomach cramps, bloody diarrhea that lasted for 3 days. My partner had only the creamer, and within 24hrs was vomiting. Instacart didn’t do anything. My food wasn’t kept in a controlled temperature environment. I suspect the shopper threw my order in the car on a hot day, and went back to do the other orders. It was hot that day, and the order took place between 1pm-3pm. I ate the Gorgonzola chicken pasta on 11/10/23 in the evening along with their bread. Wilcox Ice Cream of East Arlington, VT is recalling all flavors of Wilcox brand ice cream, yogurt, and ice cream bars, as well as Leonardo’s brand gelato after being notified by the Vermont Department of Agriculture on 11/14/23 that one lot of the Super Premium Mint Chip... See More manufactured that day may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Products were distributed in retail stores and Co-Ops located in Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusets, and New York. No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
In addition to that flavor we are recalling ALL other products manufactured at our facility with during the same time period. This involves the following flavors, sizes, and best by dates: Wilcox Premium Product Line – All Flavors – All Sizes with Best By/Sell By dates of 9/14/24 to 11/14/24: The complete list of the products is available at the link below.
All products are packaged in various sizes as noted in the above tables. The SUPER PREMIUM Products are packaged in yellow containers. The Premium Products are packaged in containers that include a picture of an ice cream truck. The Leonardo’s Gelato is packaged with the Leonardo’s logo prominently displayed. The yogurt products are packaged in beige container that says Wilcox Yogurt. The ice cream bars are packaged individually in clear plastic wrap with a sticker. Best by dates for all products can be found either on the sticker or on the side of the packaging.
We were notified by the Vermont Department of Agriculture, who was notified by the New Hampshire Department of Health on 11/14/23 that a routine sample collected by that agency of our Super Premium Mint Chocolate Chip manufactured on 9/15/23 tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. As part of our investigation, we determined that preliminary testing showed that the ice cream mix purchased to make our products may contain Listeria monocytogenes.
Customers should not consume these products.
In case you are experiencing Listeria monocytogenes symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
