On Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 12:30 p.m. I had the She Crab Soup. My friend and I instantly became ill but were there for a weekend and took over the counter medication and it got us through the rest of the time. Once I got home I became very ill and was told it takes two to five days for the symptoms of this bacteria from food to present symptoms. By Friday February 28th 2025 I was admitted through the emergency room when I returned home to New York and was diagnosed with a bacterial infection called campylobacter. That bacterial infection turned into sepsis which then gave me a heart attack. I then had to have emergency heart surgery. I have documentation from the hospital for anyone at the health department or the business who would like to review it. Today is Friday March 14th and it is the first day that I have felt good enough to reach out and write about this incident since it started. It is a miracle that I survived and lived through this.
