hormel chili vegetarian with beans, only ate a bite. bought hormel chili vegetarian with beans, best by date Oct 2025. lifted tab to open can, immediately a very loud POP sound happened & the liquid sprayed out the top about double height of can. only lifted the tab to Crack the seal. didn't even roll lid back. Poured in bowl. Saw a 2 bubbles. Took 1 small bite. about 30 mins later had slight burning of lip & tongue. Now have gurgle stomach. THROW AWAY! believe has bacterial build up. | Symptoms: Other

omg if the stuff sprayed out of the can, why on earth would you even put it up to your mouth??? If the top of a can is bulging or has leaked and dried around any part of the seams of the can, throw it out. It's a bad seal. I happens from time to time. I bought a jar of Organic Marinara Sauce at Trader Joes, the lid was bulging. So I returned it

The can was not bulging or dented. Nothing looked wrong with it. I'd never had that happen. Quick lapse of judgement.
There’s another hormel Chili post on here too, just a few days ago. Bad batch maybe?

It says vegetarian with beans; so canned meat isn't the problem here. It's not sealed correctly and anything that sprays contents upon opening should not be ingested at all.
you wouldn’t buy food from that kroger on memorial if you saw how they stock the shelves and bring in pallets, literally disgusting
