To remain consistent. I have written several reviews about the Owner and her complete disregard for health and safety protocols. I have also posted, and asked others to post on social media apps such as Instagram or Facebook about this problem because I do not believe either the moral issue and the fundamental health care concern here has been solved. This is what happened.I am absolutely astonished with the Owner's behaviour. I ordered sushi for dinner (Sunday, May 16th, 2021), never ever having a problem with them before; however, I spent over an hour in my bathroom and laying on my tiles because I couldn't stop vomiting seaweed and pieces of fish. NOT ONLY was the phone call to the restaurant brushed off (she tried to hang up on me as fast as possible as if my concern had no significance) but then the OWNER called me and asked me that 1) she heard I had an upset stomach... an upset stomach and Nausea/Fever/Vomitting/Abdominal Cramps and Physical fatigue are two completely different stories. In addition, I have already been in contact with my HIV Specialist and Senior Doctor at St. Pauls Hospital,
I asked him what his take on these symptoms were, and he said it is definitely exactly what it sounds like: food poisoning. 2) the Chef yelled profanities through the phone ("Why don't you f**king stop!") and they pretended like nothing happened... not sure, was I suppose to stop puking or what was that getting at... and then proceeded to act like that didn’t happen. 3) SHE TOLD ME IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE. Yes, it is absolutely logical that the banana and a protein shake this morning account for smells of rotten fish (not to mention the literal, physical pieces of it..), again, remaining incapable or perhaps just choosing to be ignorant of the health standards which restaurants require. LASTY, they brushed it off as if it was not a problem, didn't make a report, and told me to bring a doctors note..(which as aforementioned I have already discussed with my doctor and if I absolutely need to get it, just to prove her utter ignorance then I will).
I've worked in hospitality for 14 years (Famoso Neapolitan Pizza, Earls, S+L Bar, etc.), and NEVER in my life have I mistreated any single person who gave our business it's business.
I called them and said I have never had a problem with them before (I have always enjoyed their food with no reprucissions). Those were the first words out of my mouth. I was / am still sick and I had nothing to say except the fact their food got me sick, so thank you to the Owner for disregarding this as something less that significant. It's crazy how fast social media can spread knowledge of the type of place they represent. Clearly an unethical and as well unhealthy one, and also how I was educated about where to report this necessary concern.
This Japanese Restaurant and it's leadership represnt a clear ignorance toward business ownership: she attempts to diminish a health problem as if it's nothing, AND that it had nothing to do with what was quite obviously her food. I am absolutely appalled with this type of behaviour especially from someone who claims some position of authority and ownership. I called them to inform them that maybe, that just maybe, they might want to check their food; however, instead of listening to what I had to say, they attempted to convolute my story, and manipulated it in a sense where they could avoid complete responsibility (as I typed that my stomach is quite literally cramping hard.. aftermath of food poisoning)
She represents all what is wrong with business ownership. By her ignoring the 1 individual that was affected, she stated that the betterment, health, and wellbeing of others are not important enough to acknowledge, and then shamefully attempts to justify how it was not her responsibility, when my vomit said / smelled otherwise...
I'm less pissed off about the food poisoning at this point and significantly more pissed off with the lack of ownership when it comes to her Food Primary Business.
Thank you for reading my story. | Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting, Other, Fever, Cramps, Fatigue
