Warm Bacon Illness Suspected - Safeway, Calgary Alberta

1 year ago reported by user-xfbvy826 business

Safeway Beddington Square, Beddington Boulevard Northwest, Calgary, AB, Canada

8120 Beddington Boulevard Northwest, Calgary, T3K 2A8 Alberta, Canada

Suspected food poisoning. Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Stomach Pain, Cramps, Chills, Headache
Suspected source: Bacon
Onset: 4 to 12 hours
Duration: Several days
Sick: 2 people
Additional information: The packet was warm when it was in the open refrigeration area. Bacon maple flavour thin . My son's a chef he cooks it two standards. I actually left it in extra long to make it extra crispy.
So it was definitely well cooked. It's kept in a open refrigeration area and when I picked up the packet it actually did feel warm. However I had just come in from outside and it was -25 c so I thought it was my fingers experiencing a little bit of frostbite.

I seriously think all safeways need to have enclosed refrigeration areas no more open. And I do not know if that packet was returned and just put back on the shelf it probably was considering it was warm. But we've also had bad experiences with their cheese kept in an open case. Everything needs to meet regulation and standards and I feel these older safeways need to upgrade to closed refrigeration units. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Stomach Pain, Cramps, Chills, Headache
