Hummus Causes Family Illness - Wegmans, Morrisville North Carolina

Black bean hummus. Saturday afternoon, March 19th, my stomach began to hurt when I got to our new house with my husband. We had planned to start organizing the house while our son was with his grandmother. Earlier I had stopped by the house and snacked on a few things I had just bought. One of those things being the hummus. After feeling totally fine all morning, I was throwing up and on the toilet with diarrhea, completely down for the count for the rest of the day and night. The next day I was so sore and weak that I still couldn’t help much around the house.

My husband and his mom had the same sudden symptoms the night after I had been sick. For some reason they both ate some of the hummus even though I told them the snacks I had that could have been the culprit. The hummus turned out to be the only connection to the food poisoning.

It took me about a day to be able to keep food and liquids down after I got sick and I was feeling much better by day 3. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Vomiting, Weakness, Stomach Pain
