ER Visit After Chicken - Wendy's, Pittsfield Massachusetts

7 years ago reported by user-cdkxg527 business

Wendy's, Hubbard Avenue, Pittsfield, MA, USA

556 Hubbard Avenue, Pittsfield, 01201 Massachusetts, United States

On April 30th 2018 around 6:00pm, I stopped at Wendy's with my fiance and got chicken tenders with honey mustard dip and a homestyle chicken sandwich, which I finished all of. My fiance got a cheeseburger and French fries. That same evening, about 2 hours later. I started feeling very nauseas and had sharp pains in my stomach. Within a half hour of the early onset symptoms, I was feeling completely incapacitated as the pain was severe. I spent almost all evening in the bathroom both severely vomiting and intense diarrhea. The pain in my stomach was so intense that I couldn't get comfortable and the nausea made sleeping or resting impossible. Around 1:00am I stood to go back to the bathroom again and was so dizzy and in so much pain I knew I had to call 911 and was brought by ambulance to the ER. I felt like I was going to die. I am very traumatized from this experience and am very leary of any food prepared outside of my own home. Luckily my fiance didn't order the chicken. Please beware of the symptoms as they could be fatal. I thank God that I went to the hospital when I did and am still here today to share my experience even though I still am suffering from lingering effects. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Nausea, Vomiting, Dizziness, Stomach Pain

Hi, I'm sorry you had to go through that. Norovirus is an awful, painful illness, and has a typical incubation period of 18-24 hours, or even longer. It's possible that something you ate the previous day was the cause of your illness. Did you report the illness to the Pittsfield Health Department?
