Canned Salmon Causes Illness - Whole Foods Market, Oklahoma City Oklahoma

1 day ago reported by user-vvndj915 business

On 02/22/2026, my husband and I purchased two 14.75fl oz cans of Wild Caught Alaskan canned salmon with skin and bones included. I used them on 02/23/26 to make salmon cakes. We ate them around 7pm and were both experiencing an upset stomach and vomiting at around 12am. I experienced a racing heart and discomfort. We have made this recipe using fresh salmon and had no issues and the only difference was the addition of the canned salmon. The can looked good with no dents, swelling or cracks. The fish had a slightly strong smell but taste was okay. I have not used canned salmon before so I did not know what to expect. | Symptoms: Vomiting, Swelling
