05/27/2022, Started having Diarrhea yesterday, Friday, morning when I woke up. The food here doesn’t look or taste the freshest. I had a wedding Thursday night which was a buffet of Jamaican jerk food, ox tail, fish in sauce, etc. I am not sure if my diarrhea and stomach cramps are from the wedding or other areas in the resort. Also, I was given a glass with a lip stick stain on it- I could tell this place is not big on cleanliness. I will not be back.
I have never been so ill with a stomach virus in my life- I am sure it is salmonella. When I fly back the US tomorrow I will need to go to the doctors to get tested to confirm my theory. our first full day in Jamaica and I caught food poisoning from a Buffett breakfast or possibly eldorado steakhouse night before 12 hours prior , i projectile vomited in our bathroom , it was everywhere and I felt so bad the cleaning lady was two rooms down... See More and I apologized to her and tipped her 50.00 , I felt perfect until after breakfast 30 min later but then 20 min after my vomit episode my stomach was loosely sour and I literally stayed in bed all day sipping water and Gatorade , I forced ate some bread and drank two entire glasss of sprite that night and went back to bed and woke up around 1:38am and I felt fine thank god , was able to do our Dunn’s falls excursion on the second day (Tuesday) and rest of trip went off fine but I was not a fan of the food at all and I love cruise ship food. Resort refused to compensate me because I didn’t seek aid with the on-site doctor but no one told us there was a doctor on-site if we needed medical attention I sure would have went instead of missing my first day of vacation . We took a family trip back in December 2020. We originally had reservations for Grand Palladium Jamaica Resort & Spa but was informed before check in that that specific side had been closed due to Covid-19. So we would be enjoying our stay on this other side.... See More We quickly agreed to the upgrade and began our stay. We ate the Jerk Hut a few days in a row, plenty of the buffet food and my girls pizza at the Italian cuisine. For the most part, we enjoyed our stay until we arrived home. My 6 year old daughter had been complaining of constant diarrhea and cramping of her lower stomach. Almost everything she consumed came out of the other end in a watery form. She would break out in sweats, vomit almost immediately after consuming anything and complaint for about 2 days straight before I realized nothing over the counter was working for her. I took her into the hospital. She was Covid tested again which came back negative. After a series of other testing and stomach scans, we were informed that she was diagnosed with salmonella poisoning. I was in shock! I heard of salmonella poisoning but didn’t think it would ever affect my family directly. We’re always so cautious about the foods and meats we eat. After nursing my daughter back to good health after a total of 8 days the vomiting had finally stopped. Her the diarrhea and consistency of her stool was still the same so I knew she wasn’t 100% herself yet. Several days later I read a bunch of articles regarding this hotel and it’s Salmonella scare. Again in shock! I feel as if they should have shut their entire establishment down while the world was at the height of pandemic. If one side was closed, maybe close down the other side in preparation for future guests so that things like this doesn’t happen. Especially to a child. February 2021 rolls around and my daughter is finally doing better. It just sucks that my daughters 1st time out of the country concluded in her being poisoned. It took me a while to report this because she’s only 6, but after all the horrible reviews I’ve STILL been reading regarding this place, I had to post about our painful experience as well.

6/26/21, Ate at the Japanese restaurant Saturday evening. Had several things off the menu including sushi and shrimp wonton. I know, what was i thinking. This was around 6pm. Finished dinner and went out till around 11 pm. Woke up at 3am with severe cramps and severe... See More explosive diarrhea. Got back to bed and could not stop shivering for about 15 minutes no matter how many blankets i got under. Around 830 am i woke up and said to my wife something is terribly wrong. I cant move. Every joint and muscle in my body was screaming with pain. She helped me to the hot tub where i stayed for over an hour. I remained in bed that day with diarrhea stomach pains and chills accompanied with body aches and pains. Made it to dinner that evening between diarrhea episodes only because i wanted to see the michael jackson tribute that evening. After that right back to the bathroom then bed. Multiple episodes through the night. Monday travel day. Made it home thankfully after using facilities at both airports and the plane. Ugh. Monday evening continued with the diarrhea but only to add now it has traces of blood. Wonderful. As i right this only went twice overnight but tuesdays morning bout was alot of blood.
All in all nice resort and entertainment.
Be smart, dont eat shellfish or seafood in a foreign country that you know doesn’t have the ability to keep it from getting contaminated. Gonna go see if my toilet can take another punch now. I spend all 6-days along with my daughter and husband in bed. 2 others in our party were sick for 3 days. Upon arriving back in the states, I was admitted to the ER close to organ failure. This company STILL has not apologized or paid for my out of pockets costs to include medical expenses. I had acute Kidney damage and am still not 100% even though this happened 6-months ago. We have gone round and round to get a response after all of my expenses were submitted to their insurance company.
