“Took my family to the restaurant for family dinner. Ordered the seafood platters and gumbo.
The food all gave us upset stomachs and some fever as well.
The restaurant also had a faint smell of sewage in the air.
I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. ”

“Took my wife here for her first time on her Birthday. I'm the one paying twice now for it! Only meal I had yesterday. Now I'm vomiting every few minutes and can't keep water down. As a certified food manager I can tell you this place is below standards. Silverware looks like it came out of a dirty d... ishpan. Definitely skimping $ on Ecolab chemicals! I have to work early I really hope I can make it! The pizza was barely cooked on top but it was burnt on the bottom. I'm pretty sure the crab balls are what did it though since it's what I taste most coming up. Mmm yummy right! This place needs a secret health inspection visit late at night not 9-5 when mgt is there. Seriously no joke look at all the recent negative google reviews here it's not just me. ”

“Late morning Wed Nov 22nd, I purchased a 12 piece cheesecake sampler platter from the bakery. At approximately 1 pm I ate one piece from the platter. I was in my home where I am caring for my bedridden mother with end stage Alzheimers and was busy for rest of afternoon caring for her, so didn't g... et to eat anything else. By about 6 pm I was able to take a break and eat something. But the only thing that sounded good was Quaker oatmeal. I felt like I was getting a tummy bug but was able to get the oatmeal. By 8 pm I was having horrific cramping in the descending colon area on my left side. I went to bed at 9 pm and couldn't get to sleep because the cramping had gotten worse. By 10 pm I was laying on the floor next to my bed trying to find a sweet spot position that would help alleviate some of the cramping. By 11 pm I was in the bathroom and spent the next 3 hours either on the toilet or on the floor with the bathroom window wide open because I was drenched in sweat. My cheek was pressed on the cold tile, which can only feel good in a situation like this. Things finally hit around 2 a.m., alternating between vomiting and diarrhea. It continued to hit for the next hour at which point I finally got a couple of hours sleep. Woke up at 5 a.m. to go check on my mom and although the cramping had stopped, the diarrhea had not and continued lightly until mid afternoon today (Thursday, Nov 22nd). The only other thing I had eaten prior to the cheesecake was a dry bagel, a banana and a cup of black coffee at 6 a.m. on Wednesday. I kept the cheesecake sampler platter in my fridge in the event you want any information from it.
And just in case anyone from Walmart is reading this, they were supposed to have removed all romaine lettuce from their stores due to the CDC alert, yet they still had plenty of their remade packaged salads in the deli area. I typically buy the Apple and Walnut salad but after reading the ingredients, which clearly stated romaine lettuce, I did not purchase. ”

“Bought the cod with broccoli and cut potatoes on Saturday July 28th with “sell by” label of July 31st. I baked it as directed and took the meal to work on Monday evening. About 4 hours after eating 3/4 of the meal I started having a stomach ache. I got home from work on Tuesday morning around 071... 5, I had profound nausea and began vomiting around 0930, then diarrhea. I also have a bad headache and generalized weakness. ”

“I bought a couple of impossible burger patties from here on March 1, 2021. I cooked on at 5:30 pm and had it with a plain bagel. Within an hour my stomach was in discomfort and it got gradually worse, it was bad through midday on Tuesday at which point I ate and that helped at bit. The discomfort... moved up the body to the heart, and led to distress and then to the head by the evening, and I had a headache. On Wednesday I was low energy, like I was sick, and I had to rest a lot. Today I am returning to normalcy but still a little fragile. I have been a vegetarian for 40 years, I live a healthy life. I was so disturbed I reported it to the FDA, something I have never done, and complained to the company. ”

“The FSIS announced the recall of approximately 6,806 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) dip and salads products by Food Evolution because they contain meat that was produced without the benefit of federal inspection. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these pro... ducts.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
The RTE dip and salad items containing meat were produced on various dates from Nov. 9, 2020, through Jan. 29, 2021 and have “USE BY” dates through Feb. 6, 2021. The recalled products bear establishment number “EST. 34309” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Illinois. The following product is subject to recall:
- Taco Dip With Refried Beans, Chili, Sour Cream, Cheddar, Onions, Black Olives, Jalapenos, & Red Pepper thoughtfully handmade —fresh to you — Fresh, Fast, Gourmet (31-oz).
- Taco Dip With Refried Beans, Chili, Sour Cream, Cheddar, Onions, Black Olives, Jalapenos, & Red Pepper thoughtfully handmade —fresh to you — Fresh, Fast, Gourmet. (18-oz).
- Tri-Colored Italian Style Rotini Pasta Salad with Salami thoughtfully handmade — fresh to you — Fresh, Fast, Gourmet. (7-oz).
- German Style Potato Salad with Bacon thoughtfully handmade — fresh to you — Fresh, Fast, Gourmet. (8-oz).
The problem was discovered during routine FSIS verification tasks. FSIS personnel discovered that the establishment produced amenable product at an off-site facility without the benefit of federal inspection, then repackaged and labeled the products with the USDA mark of inspection at the federal establishment.
This is a Class I recall meaning it is a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.

“I bought some sliced butterball turkey from their meat butcher on January 26 for 15$. On Feb 12 I ate 2 of these slices, thickness 1 1/2 in a sandwich (bread, pickle, tomato, and some lettuce along with some other food (egg & cheese again from there), after about 5 hours later I got sick.
I did... not count the number of times I pooped. I also did not sleep very well that night, and had to get up and pace around my apartment from the discomfort I felt. At about 3AM the discomfort reached its peak and very slowly subsided. At about 7AM I was feeling much better.
I could not bring myself to through out all the food (the turkey + the egg and cheese alone was over 35$) that I had eaten from.
After only having a liquid diet for 24 hours, On Feb 13, I again had the same turkey sandwich but without the tomato. This time I also had a brownie that was given to me by a neighbor. This time I got sick after only about 3 hours. Now I am sure it was the turkey. This time it was a little worse, and after much pooping, I called the health nurse at the at the VA about 1AM Feb 14. She advised me to drink plenty of liquids and wait until morning to see how I felt.
I again had a very agenizing night again pacing around my apartment because I could not bring myself to do anything else. At about 2AM I vomited 4 times in quick succession. I was extremely glad to get that crap out of my stomach but didn't feel all that better after doing so as I had expected it to.
The extreme discomfort again slowly went down and about 8 AM I was feeling ok.
On Feb 17 I went to the store to return the meat but forgot to bring it. I found out that they had been closed for 3 days because of having no power. I needed to buy some more food so went to the frozen food section.
I found most of the shelves very low on frozen food. I talked to one of the workers about that, that was restacking the frozen food, and she said since they had lost power for 3 days they had to throw out all the frozen and refrigerated food. I chatted with her and another customer for a little while. I again asked her if she was sure all the frozen and refrigerated food was thrown out and she said she was.
I bought 3 Michelina's Chicken Fried Rice dinners and 1 Marie Callender's Chicken Pot Pie. I went home and immediately ate 2 of the Fried Rice dinners, and again got sick within about 4 hours. Again I have a sleepless night with extreme discomfort, but not as bad as the second time I got food poisoning, and again in the morning I felt better.
It is my belief that they didn't throw out all the frozen food. Frozen food that they thought would make it through the 3 day outage such as rice would be ok.
On Feb 21 I took back the turkey there and got a refund. I did not take back the rice for 2 reasons. First they are only a 1$ apiece, and 2nd I didn't want it to look like I was scamming them.
Proving food poising looks to me like a uphill battle, unless there are others like me that have been poisoned. My 3rd case of food poisoning on the other hand may not be as hopeless as it seems. If they did not throw out all the frozen and refrigerated food as they said it is a different matter, after all their own surveillance cameras may show a different story! I am also sure that the people that insure they would like to know if all the food they claimed was thrown out was in fact done.
I still have yet to throw out 1 unopened Chicken pot pie, and 1 Chicken Fried Rice and 2 opened Chicken Fried Rice dinners. The codes on those dinners may show that they were thrown out with the insurance company. As for now, I don't think I will ever buy frozen or refrigerated food there again. ”

“The chicken on the chicken chipotle sandwich was raw, and rubbery. Not sure if it was truly raw as I doubt they cook it and not just warm it in store but made me sick.
