Gastrointestinal illness linked with Kobuta and Ookami Katsu & Sake

1 year ago source kingcounty.gov business

17026 Avondale Way, Redmond, 98052 Washington, United States

Kobuta & Ookami Katsu & Sake, a restaurant located in Redmond, Washington, is currently under investigation due to an outbreak of gastrointestinal illness. Two individuals have reported falling ill after dining at the establishment on December 22, 2024.

The issue came to light when the two affected individuals reported their illness. A subsequent inspection of the restaurant on January 10, 2025, revealed several food safety concerns that could potentially lead to cross-contamination and spread of disease. These included improper handwashing practices by workers, potential cross-contamination between raw and ready-to-eat foods, and questionable food storage practices. The restaurant was also found to be lacking an illness log for workers.

If you are experiencing symptoms after eating this product it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist seek medical attention.
