Health Alert for Myanmar's Illegally Imported Meat and Poultry Products

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for various meat and poultry products illegally imported from Myanmar, a country ineligible to export such products to the U.S. These were shipped to retail locations nationwide

The products do not bear any import marks on their labels. The following is the list of the products involved in the alert. The pictures are available below.

- Product name: Grandma Style Sardine in Tomato Sauce. Size: 400 g. Additional sticker on package: Also has sticker that says Beef Curry
- Product name: Grandma Style Fried Carp with Curry Paste. Size: 100 g. Additional sticker on package: Also has sticker that says Goat/Mutton Curry
- Product name: Grandma Style Anabas Curry. Size: 130 g. Additional sticker on package: Also has sticker that says Duck Curry
- Product name: Grandma Style Steamed Carp Fish. Size: 130 g. Additional sticker on package: Also has sticker that says Beef Curry
- Product name: Grandma Fish with Salt. Size: 100 g. Additional sticker on package: Also has sticker that says Beef
- Product name: Grandma Fish with Salt. Size: 100 g. Additional sticker on package: Also has sticker that says Mutton Entrails Curry/Goat Offal
- Product name: Grandma Chickpea Curry. Size: 400 g. Additional sticker on package: Also has sticker that says Mutton Soup

- Product name: Grandma Ohn No Khao Swe (Chicken). Size: 400 g.
- Product name: San Pya Daw Kyi (contains catfish). Size: 200 g.
- Product name: Hti Mi Gwi Mawlamyine Mohinga (catfish). Size: 360 g.

The issue came to light during routine surveillance activities at a retailer, where FSIS discovered meat and poultry products from Myanmar, which are not eligible for export to the U.S.

Retailers who have purchased the products are urged not to sell them. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and return them to the place of purchase.
