公共卫生官员正在调查与后院家禽有关的圣保罗沙门氏菌感染的多州疫情。截至2026年4月13日，来自13个州（威斯康星州、密歇根州、印第安纳州、肯塔基州、俄亥俄州、伊利诺伊州、田纳西州、密西西比州、佛罗里达州、西弗吉尼亚州、马里兰州、特拉华州和缅因州）的34人报告生病，其中13人住院。这些疾病发生在2026年2月26日至3月31日之间。

疫情可追溯到与后院家禽的接触，79% 的受访患者报告了这种接触。在拥有家禽的人中，有93％的人自2026年1月1日以来从包括农业零售商店在内的各种来源购买了家禽。疾病控制与预防中心（CDC）和州卫生官员正在收集数据，以查明疫情的来源。

该问题是通过PulseNet系统发现的，该系统通过全基因组测序识别了疫情毒株。该分析表明，来自病人的细菌在基因上相似，这表明它们是共同的来源。从俄亥俄州后院家禽中采集的样本与疫情菌株相符，证实了与家禽的联系。
