4/4/24 drank some orange juice, got nausea, gas, cramps & diarrhea for 4hrs off and on. thought it was the soda threw it out, started to level out & feel better, started drinking the orange juice with in 15mins i was puking inside Redners bathroom, went home, puking … See More
gradually got so severe, violent & nonstop, i could not stop even with medicine had to go to ER, released with severe nausea that continued for 6 days after. arbys drive thru chic also got sick f/oj at same location as well as another woman posted on fb she got sick f/oj at the Phoenixville McDonalds. I called the day I got sick and was blown off because no one else called it wasn't until the 4/15/24 when i found the other two women who also got sick f/ mcdonalds orange juice that i called mcdonalds again and spoke to jeff.. is it two late to be tested for anything that would have indicated food poisoning , hospital only tested for gastro issues via blood samples that were fine. .. again the sequence of events and how fast it happened when i drank the oj along with the two other folks indicate food poisoning. mcdonalds insurance does not want to pay for my bills(no insurance) and missing work because they say the other two women are hearsay and i cant prove it was food poisoning.. the hospital did not have a determination when i asked she shrugged her shoulders.. but again the events and timing point to food poisoning from mcdonalds orange juice and the other location is only about 9miles from the one i went to ,, so it is very feasible that they got the same oj deliveries.. also no one near me previously, during , nor after got sick..  | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Cramps, Chills, Gas

Whopper, Burger King, Ulster Avenue, Kingston, NY, USA

3 weeks ago reported by user-gfhmm467

Ate the whopper around 12:30. The texture was awfully dry, but otherwise seemed normal. Began to feel generally unwell and stomach pain around 14:30. By 15:30 I was nauseous and light headed. 16:30, began the severe vomiting and diarrhea, which has continued (currently ongoing). Note: I did … See More
not eat breakfast or anything else prior to the whopper. I drank bottled water at the location, drank the same filtered water as my fiancé at home this morning, and only ate a few fries (which my fiancé also ate, and he’s currently ok). No food since. I’m a molecular biologist with a focus on infectious diseases, and I know what to look for regarding food poisoning cases.

Update 30/03: I actually suspect it's a toxin-producing bacterium, such as *S. aureus*, especially considering the rapid onset of symptoms. We also don't have a high number of norovirus cases in our area, so it's not something that I would consider to be suspicious when weighing other factors like norovirus' incubation period, symptoms like fever and myalgia, and rapid spread. I'm also not in close contact with many other people or shared surfaces, further reducing the index of suspicion. On the other hand, *Staph aureus* is ubiquitously found and the enterotoxins produced are highly heat stable, making it more likely to be the causative agent if the meat was older, improperly handled (especially regarding hygiene practices) or stored, or not cooked to temperature. The more aggressive symptoms are beginning to subside, though I'm definitely not the happiest-of-campers at this time.  | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Lightheaded

recalled product was shipped directly to Trade Joe’s retail distribution centers in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Virginia and to two Fruit Center Marketplace stores in Massachusetts. Based on its food questionnaires and epidemiological data to date, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported that 12 illnesses are likely related to this recall.

Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis, and arthritis.

Infinite Herbs initiated the voluntary recall after the FDA notified it of the CDC's information.

No other products distributed by Infinite Herbs are affected by this recall—non-organic basil in any package and other package sizes of organic basil are not included in this recall. The company is conducting this recall with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration's (FDA's) knowledge.

The recalled product is out of date and no longer available for sale, but consumers are urged to check their refrigerators and freezers and not consume the recalled organic basil if they have it.
