Update February 18th, 2026:The FDA has expanded the advisory involving Stellar Bay Shellfish Ltd. oysters harvested from British Columbia harvest area BC 17-20 (Nanoose Bay), CLF #1401656.
The advisory now includes all raw oysters harvested between December 22, 2025 and February 4, 2026, rather than only the previously listed individual harvest dates.
The FDA continues to monitor the situation and will provide further updates as new information becomes available.

February 12th, 2026:
Stellar Bay Shellfish Ltd. has issued a recall for certain oysters due to potential norovirus contamination. The affected oysters were distributed to restaurants and retailers in California, Colorado, Florida, Hawai’i, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington.
AFFECTED PRODUCT:
- Kusshi, Chrome Point, Stellar Bay, and Stellar Bay Gold brand oysters.
- These were harvested from British Columbia, Canada, area BC 17-20 (Nanoose Bay)
- With harvest dates of 12/30/2025, 1/20/2026, 1/26/2026, and 1/29/2026.
- The specific lot number is CLF #1401656.
The issue was identified following reports of norovirus-like illness linked to the oysters. The recall was initiated on February 5, 2026, after advisories from health departments. The FDA is monitoring the situation and has classified the recall as a safety alert.
