Update August 18th, 2025:
The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) has expanded the scope of the frozen oyster advisory following a norovirus outbreak in Utah County. Some recalled oysters have been confirmed in restaurants in Cache, Davis, Salt Lake, and Utah counties, with the possibility of distribution to additional counties. This expansion goes beyond the FDA's earlier recall parameters due to new contamination evidence. The advisory remains under active investigation with state and federal partners.

Key new developments:
- Expanded Harvest Period: UDAF is now advising against serving, selling, or eating any frozen half-shell oysters from Designated Area No. 1, Republic of Korea, harvested between December 30, 2024 and August 6, 2025.
- New Positive Lot Identified: On August 18, 2025, testing confirmed norovirus contamination in an additional lot of frozen half-shell oysters:
- Certification Number: KR-15-SP
- Harvest Date: February 13, 2025
- Harvest Area: Designated Area No. 1
- Lot Code: B250213
