Mexicano brand Corn Chips Cheese recalled due to Undeclared Allergen

9 months ago source mpi.govt.nz

Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand

Mexican Supplies Limited is recalling a specific batch of its Mexicano brand Corn Chips Cheese due to an undeclared allergen, soy. The product has been incorrectly packaged, with Mexicano brand Corn Chips Tasty Salsa inside the packaging of the Corn Chips Cheese. The product has been distributed to several supermarkets throughout the North Island, New Zealand, including New World Hastings, New World Miramar, New World Paremata, Pak'n Save Hāwera, and Pak'n Save Tamatea.

The product in question is the 300g package of Mexicano brand Corn Chips Cheese. The batch carries a best before date of July 17, 2025, and is sold in a 300g foil bag.

The issue was discovered when the company found that the Tasty Salsa variety of the corn chips had been incorrectly packaged as the Cheese variety.

In case you experience harm from allergens or undeclared ingredients, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
