Carretera El Macao - Arena Gorda, Punta Cana, 23000 La Altagracia, Dominican Republic
I'm from Panama, they gave me an all-paid trip to Punta Cana for me and my co-workers with my mom from Thursday to Sunday. I arrived at the Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana hotel on Thursday, August 14 and after having dinner in the main dining room of the hotel I started to have sweating and nausea. I asked the girls who work at the hotel for help because I was going to faint and they ignored me. I asked them for cotton, I was alone in the bathroom of the main dining room and I needed to look for my mom to take me to the room, I had diarrhea that first night, and on Friday night I ate snacks for lunch and I had breakfast and dinner in the main dining room that time I had pizza, rice and vegetables Chicken To see if that made my stomach feel better, after 2 hours I got worse I started vomiting, on Saturday morning I threw up too and I finally went to the clinic and the doctor told me that I had severe dehydration and that I had to be transported urgently by ambulance to a nearby hospital, I arrived at the emergency room to be hospitalized while we were doing the procedures with the insurance company then they sent me to the img hospital, they referred me and hospitalized me, it was my first time in my life that I had been hospitalized and what started Like a vacation from Panama to Punta Cana to share with my mom and my co-workers because it was a gift trip it turned into a nightmare, it's very difficult to get to another country to get sick and spend the first time in a hospital as two women alone. My mother, very distressed, began with the procedures with the insurance company, she talked to the hotel manager that everyone they are rude and they didn't want to believe me because they said that nobody in their hotel was intoxicated and I only ate in that hotel. We had to authorize my colleagues who had to return to Panama on Sunday to check out and remove my bags from my room and at first they didn't want to return it to me nor did they want them to come to my room to take them because we no longer had money for transportation because it's very expensive and the hospital was half an hour from the hotel, we left my mom and I alone in a country we didn't know, we received good treatment from the doctors and nurses who supported us at all times and my mom was able to take care of me, I received treatments for vomiting, fever and very low blood pressure.Thank God I went on time because it could have been worse, I am very struck by the sewer odors in the main dining room and walking around the facilities, cold meals on the buffets, undercooked meat, the bad tasting snack food and the terrible attention of the hotel staff. I urge the health authorities to do the checks because these odors are not normal in the main dining room, I don't recommend anyone to go to an all-inclusive in Punta Cana, if you are going to travel to Punta Cana you'd better eat à la carte and look for accommodation that isn't everything included and if you can prepare your food even better and never forget your travel insurance. The hotel managers have contacted us only to apologize but they never reimbursed us anything for the damage caused or for the expenses we had for the medicines, the specialist and the ambulance transport, nor help with the fine that we had to pay with the Airline to change the date of the flight because I had to stay 2 more nights in the hospital because we had to return on Sunday and only yesterday Monday I was discharged to fly to Panama and continue treatment with Antibiotics. I enclose photos, medical tests and prescriptions.
I hope that it will remain an experience so that those who travel do not go through what happens because it is very sad and that they are very careful.
Regards. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Fever, Chills, Gas
