Absolutely shocking experience.I placed an order at 5:30pm via Just Eat. I understand it's Ramadan and places get busy, so I initially gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, after trying to call around 40 times with no answer, and receiving no updates or communication whatsoever, it quickly became frustrating.
By 7:15pm, the food still hadn't arrived, so I went to the shop myself. It was busy, but not nearly busy enough to justify completely ignoring customers. If you can't handle the volume, stop accepting orders or at least communicate delays — I would have happily collected it earlier.
When I arrived, I spoke to staff and asked for the manager. They offered me the food, but after nearly 2 hours of waiting, I refused. I was then told the order had "left 15 minutes ago," yet it had already been marked as delivered much earlier. I even checked my Ring doorbell footage — nothing ever arrived.
While I was in the shop for around 20 minutes, no delivery turned up either. So where exactly was my order?
The manager was completely unhelpful and unprofessional. Instead of taking responsibility or offering a refund, he kept insisting they could just remake the food. If it had already "left," why remake it? It made no sense.
After over 2 hours, I gave up arguing and told them to make it fresh. Within 5 minutes, the food was suddenly ready and packed, which honestly suggests it had never left the shop in the first place.
To make matters worse, two other customers came in with the exact same issue — both waiting around 2 hours. Clearly, this is not a one-off problem.
I eventually took the food home out of frustration. As expected, items were missing (no Pepsi), the chips were soggy, and the chicken wasn't even properly cooked. We actually felt unwell after eating it.
The worst part was the attitude. One member of staff even had a smirk on his face, as if the situation was amusing. After fasting all day, this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Unprofessional manager. Your staff clearly cannot manage — be a responsible manager, be present at your own shop, and step in to support your team instead of leaving them to struggle.
I've also passed this matter onto Trading Standards.
