Suspected food poisoning. Symptoms: Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Cramps, Headache
Suspected source: I ordered 2 things: Side of pork and a pork belly. They came out lukewarm, which seemed odd, but I was so hungry I trusted the process. Was at Bay Fest - no outside food allowed - and couldn't find much that fit my keto diet.
Onset: 4 to 12 hours
Duration: Several days

Additional information: I am in good health and have only gotten food poisoning once ever, and not nearly this bad. I rarely eat out because I typically want to eat fresh, organic foods that I cook myself. Of course I make exceptions when I travel, but before this I've felt like I had an iron stomach. For me to get food poisoning means a serious breach of safe food handling. Symptoms came up about 5 hours after the meal, and I spent the night curled up on the bath mat and purged all night. Vomiting subsided by morning and diarrhea lasted a day. It was a week before I could eat normally, and even then I felt like my stomach wasn't fully functional for weeks. I've never experienced anything like this. The only other thing I had that day was a home brewed cup of tea, a fresh bottle of Trader Joe's coconut water, canned sparkling water, and electrolytes. I wasn't feeling great and left the festival early. When I got sick I took a lot of activated charcoal which I believe helped. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs. I didn't know where to report, and one of my students told me about this website. I contacted Mission Bayfest and they didn't respond. I realize this is a late submission, but I also think that those who don't follow good food handling procedures probably do it regularly and should be inspected..
