Last night (January 14, 2016) I had taken by Chihuahua for an evening walk and then, before going home, decided that I would stop at my usual Subway and get a sub and watch a movie at home. I ordered a foot-long roasted chicken breast on flat bread (white), with two kinds of cheese: swiss and provolone. This was then toasted. After toasting, I had the attendant put on tomatoes, red onions, spinach, and some mayonnaise and their chipotle sauce. I paid and drove home. I love those sandwiches.
I watched a movie on Netfilx and ate one half of the sandwich. It was so good, I went ahead and ate the other half. That was about 11:00 pm. Fifteen minutes later, I was feeling slightly nauseous and drank some selzer water to get a burp. It didn't help. At 11:30 pm, I turned the movie off and went to bed. This is unusual for me, but I had to lie down. I was feeling chilled and upped the heater, but that didn't help, and I was still feeling slightly nauseous. I went through the usual "No, I'm okay, I'm not going to get sick ...." This went on for a while. Then about 1:00 am I jumped out of bed and fled to the bathroom. Up came the sandwich--all of it, or so I thought. Violent projectile vomiting! This was food poisoning--and it was fast.
I felt better and went back to bed. At 2:30, the same nausea overcame me. I went back into the bathroom and brought up some more ... until there was nothing whatsoever left in my stomach. I had no cramping and no diarrhea. Perhaps the onset happened so fast that there was not time for it to go longer in my GI tract.
Finally I could sleep. However, I was feeling so bad the next day, so wiped out, I had to stay in bed most of the day. | Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting, Burping
