Food Safety Report - Yummyslice Pizza, Surrey British Columbia

8 months ago reported by user-dwmyj915 business

Yummyslice Pizza, 2670 152 St Suite 310, Surrey, BC V4P 1M9, Canada

2670 152 Street, Surrey, V4P 1M9 British Columbia, Canada

On May 25, 2025, my partner and I purchased pizza from Yummy Slice Pizza. We each consumed two slices of pizza between 12-12:30pm. We observed that the pizza was not stored in a warming unit and appeared to have been left out at room temperature. The food did not seem hot or freshly made at the time of purchase. Approximately 2 to 4 hours after consumption, both of us began experiencing symptoms of foodborne illness. These symptoms included: • Nausea • Fatigue • Headache • Vomiting The onset and overlap of symptoms for both individuals strongly suggest food poisoning due to improper food handling or storage. We suspect the pizza may have been contaminated with bacteria due to being left at unsafe temperatures for an extended period of time. We are concerned that Yummy Slice Pizza may not be following proper food safety practices, particularly with regard to hot-holding requirements for ready-to-eat items such as pizza. Per food safety guidelines, hot foods must be kept at or above 60°C (140°F) to prevent bacterial growth. The symptoms we experienced align with bacterial food poisoning, potentially from Staphylococcus aureus or Bacillus cereus, both of which can develop in improperly stored food and cause illness within a few hours. | Symptoms: Nausea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Cramps, Chills, Headache, Fatigue
