Fink's Delicatessen in Bozeman is under investigation following a cryptosporidiosis outbreak linked to its turkey sandwiches, with 22 people sickened. The Gallatin City-County Health Department identified the popular sandwich shop as the likely source of the outbreak, which occurred between May 26 and June 1, 2025 in Fink's Delicatessen in Bozeman, MT, United States. The health department's investigation revealed that Fink's Deli had several food safety violations, including improper temperature control in coolers. During an inspection on June 18, 2025, three coolers were found to have internal temperatures exceeding the safe limit of 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Specifically, basil aioli was measured at 58 degrees, and turkey slices at 43 degrees. These conditions may have contributed to the spread of Cryptosporidium, a parasite causing symptoms such as diarrhea, stomach pain, and nausea.
The outbreak was discovered after multiple individuals reported symptoms consistent with cryptosporidiosis and confirmed dining at Fink's during the specified period. The health department's ongoing investigation aims to identify the exact source of contamination. Fink's Delicatessen has stated its cooperation with health officials
If you or a loved one are harmed or experiencing any symptoms, it is important to report it. Reporting can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
